South Fork of the Snake Fishing Report April 7th, 2016

Wow what nice weather!  On this Thursday afternoon it’s 60 degrees and sunny.  If you can sneak out for an early weekend tomorrow if nothing else it will be a beautiful day on the water.  Highs will be near 70 on Friday and dropping back to 60 on Saturday.

Not much has changed since our report last week.  Water remains at winter flow as they finish up the headgate project on the lower river.  Fishing should improve when they raise the flow but for now stick with nymphs, keep your eyes peeled for fishing rising to midges and don’t be afraid to try a streamer.  The whitefish are still really active but stay at it and you can locate some trout as well.

The photo below is from our live web-cam which can be viewed right here.

Nice to see the snow is gone in the valley.
