South Fork of the Snake Fishing Report July 13th, 2017

Buck Leonard South Fork Fishing Guide

Oh, man is it nice to see the flows dropping out of Palisades!! Wahoo!  Flows out of Palisades are currently 17,000 cfs and should continue to drop daily until irrigation demand is reached.   Clarity in the river is improving and the reservoir is clearing as well.  We should see “normal” conditions soon.

While still, an abnormal year, fishing with nymphs remains very good.  With the flows dropping more fishable water is opening up and fishing is improving.  Strong hatches of PMD’s, Sallies, and Golden Stones continue and as the water clears we hope to see fishing “looking up” and will report here as soon as it happens!

For dry fly fishing, many of our guides have been venturing over to neighboring rivers such as the Salt and Green Rivers and have had reported back with good fishing in these areas.  We’re proud to have a hard working guide staff that will find the type of fishing any client could want.

If you haven’t heard, we’re having our now famous Mexican BBQ this Friday night.  Reservations can be made today by calling 208.483.2222.  We’ll kick it off with cocktails at 6:30, then serving all your BBQ favorites at 7:00. $30.00 per person, all you can eat, with a full bar available.

If you need anything else, swing by our fly shop or give us a call.  Thanks for reading!
