South Fork of the Snake River Fishing Report 7/11/2019

south fork of the snake fishing report cutthroat trout by waterfall

Call in sick, grab your cooler, your fly rod, and get your butt to the South Fork. With the long cool Spring, we’ve had to wait longer than normal but the magic is here! PMD’s, Sallies, and our favorite, Salmon Flies are all hatching right now…close your eyes and picture-perfect trout fishing…it’s happening.

We are seeing PMD’s and Sallies up and down the river with the Salmon Flies moving their way up into the Canyon. With the hot weather ahead the Salmon Flies will move upriver daily and I’d imagine we will see them fluttering and floundering around on the upper river before the weekend is out.

Not much more needs to be said, GO FISHING, be patient at the boat ramps and on the water, and have fun.

Come by the shop for the valley’s best selection of PMD’s, PMD emergers, hot bead head droppers, and of course big foamy salmon fly imitations.
