South Fork of the Snake River Fishing Report September 30th, 2016

If you’re luck enough to be out fishing this weekend then you are lucky enough.  The weather while mild right now as I right this is about to take a turn for the better…for fishing anyway.  Scattered showers and cooler temps will mean excellent fishing this weekend for those willing to brave the elements.  There’s no such thing as bad weather just bad clothing right?  The fish are already wet and cold so get out there!

You could probably get away with just two boxes of flies…streamers and BWO’s.  Blue Wings will hatch some point after lunch time…but this can vary widely from 10:00 am until as late at 4:00 pm.  If the BWO’s aren’t hatching then streamers are the name of the game.  The trout are trying to bulk up for the coming winter and will attack a well placed ‘meal’.  If you aren’t getting lots of chases, change size and color until you’re turning heads.  You’re doing it right when you’re getting lots of “chasers”

Have fun out there!
